It seems like ages ago that I shared Kelly & Jeff’s engagement session! I’m excited to finally share their wedding with you. The ceremony was at St Michael’s and the reception at the Johnston Florist’s new venue. It’s in North Huntingdon and is recently converted from a greenhouse- it’s really lovely there. The portraits, however, took an unusual turn. It started when Kelly said, “It may be really silly, but I saw this picture on Pinterest…”
Now, maybe it should be said that I don’t necessarily recreate photos. There are so many variables- from light to location to time and candid moments- that just don’t make that possible. I would much rather spend time capturing a genuine reflection of your awesome wedding day than try to make it look like someone else’s. That said! What I CAN do is to use your favorite images as inspiration. And Kelly really made it a priority to get those shots. Which is exactly how the Rose Bar & Grill somewhat unexpectedly ended up with an entire wedding party taking over their bar and having a fantastic time. The shots we got there went beyond anything I’ve ever seen on Pinterest, and it was crazy and fun and we wouldn’t have gotten those shots any other way. Love that inspiration and willingness to try crazy things, and many thanks to the Rose to being terribly good sports. :)
What else to tell you? That Jeff is huge-hearted and good-natured and organized a fantastic flash mob to surprise Kelly during the reception. That Kelly is authentically one of the sweetest people I have ever met with never-ending laughter and a smile that lights up the room. These two are kind and a joy to be around and it was honestly a blessing to witness their wedding day.
