I know that I say that most of my couples are calm and laid back, even when there’s a lot to be worried about with the activity of the day. Ashley and Nathan may have taken that to a new level. I said hi to Nathan when we arrived at the church and asked how everything was going. “Oh, fine! Everything’s great!” pause. “Oh, and the power’s out.”
Not just the church- the entire city was without electric, and its estimate to be repaired wasn’t until after the ceremony. I stopped in on Ashley to give her an update- because I would certainly understand a bride being worried about a power outage! Instead, I found her in the limo, having a dance party. That pretty much set the tone for the rest of the day. :)
On top of being a fabulous party, Ashley & Nathan also worked in a lot of little Halloween touches that I absolutely loved. She wore ruby slippers, he had Frankenstein socks; the entire bridal party had vampire teeth or masks. The draped ceiling looked like cobwebs and the candy bar was to die for. Top that with a Thriller bridal party dance and dancing that went the rest of the night- everyone had a great time.
